Clay Shooting, Unified Sporting Clays · EMERALD CLAY TEAM WINS BIG AT FIRST SCDNR TRAP CHAMPIONSHIP OF THE YEAR

The SCDNR Scholastic Clay Target Sports held the first of three Championships to determine the winner of the prestigious State Governor’s Cup on Friday, February 7th. The event was held at the NWTF Palmetto Shooting Complex located in Edgefield, SC. Emerald Clay Team was well represented with two squads who shot their way to an invitation to compete for the Trap Championship. The Ladies Junior Varsity squad was composed of Summer Cox, Maggie Findley and Lauren Mac Robison. The Male Senior Varsity squad was filled with Grayson Dixon, Grant Whitehead and Jack Wiseman.

The invitations from SCDNR were sent out all over our great State and 180 athletes who qualified for the Trap Championship converged Friday morning on site to a cold and extremely windy tournament. Through the SCDNR Scholastic Clay Program and donations, the SCDNR gave away over $13,000 in scholarships and several thousand dollars worth of prizes.
