Girls Junior Varsity Basketball, Girls Varsity Basketball · Moore Leads Lady Vikings into Region Play

Emerald Girls’ Basketball travels to Pelzer tonight to begin their region schedule against Palmetto. The team has many reasons to be confident heading into region play. The dominant performance of sophomore Dijah Moore is at the top of the list of reasons that the Lady Vikings expect to perform well every night they take the court. She provides insight into her excellence by answering the questions below:

VBB vs BHP 043

  1. How long have you been playing basketball? I have been playing ball since I was 7.
  2. What is your favorite basketball memory? It felt good when we made it to the first round of the playoffs last year, because Emerald Girls haven’t  been to the playoffs since 2008.
  3. You play all positions on the floor, what is your favorite and why? I play all 1-5 positions on the floor, but my favorite of them all is playing the 3 because i can either shoot the ball or back my defender down into the post.
  4. You open your region schedule next week. Which school will be the toughest opponent? Berea, because they have a few girls that are scrappy.
  5. What are your individual goals for this season? Become more of a leader and lead my team all the way.
  6. What are your team goals for this season? Everyone to play their role, play team ball, win region, and go to the 2nd round to playoffs.
