Girls Varsity Track · Sims Signs with Columbia College

4.21 County 088

The Emerald Athletic Department would like to congratulate Bryanna Sims for signing her national letter of intent to compete in Track & Field at Columbia College. We caught up with Bryanna to discuss her future plans.

What will your major be in college?

I will be majoring in Middle Level Education.

Why did you choose Columbia College?

I chose Columbia College because it had the specific major that I was looking for and I loved the size of the college. It also offers a lot of programs that I am ready to get involved with such as “The Institution for Leadership and professional Leadership”.

How does it feel to be a “Fighting Koala”?

It is very humbling to officially be a fighting koala!

What is your favorite memory from track at Emerald?

My favorite memory from track and field was when Coach English was training me for the State Qualifiers and I threw my new PR of 34’6″!

Which is best: shot or disc? Why?

I think that shot is best because it is more power based than discus. Also, you have to work much harder to PR which makes you more excited when you do gain extra distance.

What are your goals in college?

My goals in college are to have a 4.0 GPA, join one or more college organizations, travel, and graduate with my intended major of Middle Level Education.
