Game Recap

The Emerald Vikings JV saw victory slip away on Thursday when a nine-run
seventh inning lead disappeared after a furious charge from Laurens-JV, who
ended up with a 12-11 win at Laurens High.
Even in defeat, Braeden Burton played well for the Emerald Vikings JV.
Burton racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Vikings. He
singled in the fourth and sixth innings.
Burton shut down Laurens-JV while he was on the hill. Burton gave up just
three hits, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three during
his four innings of work.
Luke Willis got the win in relief for Laurens-JV. Willis pitched 1 2/3 innings
and allowed no runs.
Laurens-JV was sparked by Kobe Williams and Heath Bragg, who teamed
up for four hits and two RBIs.
The top of the second saw the Emerald Vikings JV take an early lead, 3-0. A
double by Evans Allen, plating Chandler Beale and Gage Timmerman
started the inning off. The Vikings pushed more runs across
when Allen scored on a wild pitch.
Laurens survived the Vikings’s surge and put up two runs of
its own in the fifth. Laurens scored on a walk by Williams and a steal of
home by Devon Hubner.
